Martin Palmer - HURRICANE MODULAR COMMERCE

Martin Palmer

Co-founder and Board Member, HURRICANE MODULAR COMMERCE
Martin Palmer has spent more than 40 years trying to convince the world that customs and compliance can actually be interesting, and, most of the time, he succeeds. Over four decades in global logistics, distribution, and international trade compliance, he’s become a person businesses call when regulations get complicated and the stakes get high. He has held senior leadership roles, including Global Export Controls and Customs Director at TNT Express. These days, he splits his time between building smarter solutions and coaching companies on how to make compliance part of everyday business rather than a last minute headache. Martin is co founder and board member of Hurricane Modular Commerce Ltd, a company that turns the pain of cross border classification and compliance into something far more manageable. He also founded Supply Chain Compliance Ltd, helping organisations weave trade compliance into their operations so that doing the right thing becomes the easy thing. Beyond the boardroom, Martin has worked with NGOs, enforcement agencies, and intergovernmental bodies to combat illicit trade, counter proliferation, and wildlife trafficking, bringing real world sector experience to efforts that protect global supply chains and the planet. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and an active member of the Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade, Martin is deeply invested in raising professional standards across the industry. Colleagues see him as a trusted advisor who can translate dense regulation into practical action – and who never forgets that ethical global trade is not just good governance, but good business.
