Josep Francesc Cortés is Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Kanguro, an out-of-home delivery network running in production in four countries, where local shops act as pickup points for carriers that compete with each other on the same system. He trained as a telecommunications engineer and holds a master's in Cognitive Systems and Interactive Media, which is most of the reason he ended up building machines that hold a conversation. He spent the following decade as a product manager across gaming, sports analytics and digital product before moving into operations, and now runs Kanguro's network and its automation with AI. He has also spent close to two decades leading a team of castellers, the Catalan human towers that hundreds of people build out of themselves. He maintains it is reasonable preparation for scaling a logistics startup: both are organisations that only matter when they hold up under pressure.
