Bas van den Heuvel is Co-founder, CEO and CTO of Parcelloc, focused on digitalising last-mile delivery operations. Parcelloc was originated at innoXL, the venture studio for mobility and logistics ecosystem solutions that he co-founded and leads. He came to logistics by way of 26 years at Ford Motor Company. He headed Ford's Mobility Ecosystems Innovation lab, developing solutions for sustainable urban mobility and smart middle- and last-mile logistics, and architecting the company's innovation framework. That work rested on the engineering and strategy career behind it. He began as global technical expert in combustion, went on to lead the development of new commercial-vehicle products, and rose to advising Ford's global CEO on propulsion and platform strategy. His method throughout has been to design modular architectures in products, portfolios and organisations, so a business can absorb market and regulatory change without starting over. Over his career he has delivered business models and product platforms resulting in more than €100 million in cost savings, shaped more than €1 billion of sustainable business investment, and led teams of up to 25 across more than 30 nationalities. He holds an MSc and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology, has secured some €10 million in competitive research funding including Horizon Europe, and authored more than 30 patents.
