PostNord faces B2C market growth with Fives’ sorting solution
PostNord Norway invested in automation in its
facility in Drammen to cope with the increase of items to handle in the coming
years.
The GENI-Belt™ turnkey sorting system installed by
Fives enables :
- to manage items fluctuation in the
short-term
- to serve up a lot of destinations simultaneously covering
the territory in a widespread manner
At this facility, the incoming material is unloaded
from the trucks onto upstream conveyors that transfer the parcels to the
automated induction lines.
The induction lines feed the sorter with the parcels
and packets to be sorted into the assigned outlet. The sorter is equipped with diverse
types of outlets: spiral chutes, bag outlets, slide chutes and telescopic
conveyors.
