Are Your Drivers Trained to Carry Limited Quantities?

Dangerous goods packed as Limited Quantities (LQ) are commonplace within parcel and courier networks – but there can be a misconception that Limited Quantities means exempt from the dangerous goods regulations.

It doesn't.

Limited Quantities provide relief from some of ADR's requirements, but appropriate training requirements still apply.

Importantly for parcel carriers, ADR 2025 made the application of training requirements for drivers carrying Limited Quantities clearer.

This means businesses should consider whether drivers transporting LQ packages – which might contain products ranging from perfumes and aerosols to paints and cleaning products – have received appropriate dangerous goods training.

Peter East Associates offers dedicated eLearning training for Limited Quantities by Road, alongside a Limited Quantities by Road & Sea course for organisations whose operations involve both road and maritime transport chains.

Both provide flexible training for businesses looking to train individual employees or larger operational teams.

Come and discuss Limited Quantities with us on Stand P33 at Post & Parcel Expo 2026.
