Jan Van Roey

Jan has spent more than 35 years in the logistics and parcel and postal industries, with international roles at – among others – DHL, Royal Mail and bpost/Landmark in operations, sales, product marketing and global customer management. Since 2022 he has led the international division of Poste Italiane with a focus on developing international import and export and with responsibility for Poste Italiane’s company in China. Previously he spent five years managing sales and operations in Europe and the UK for Landmark Global (a bpost company) and 20 years at DHL in different international roles.

Smooth customs clearance

Starting in 2021 with the enforcement of EU Directive 2017/2455 (Low Value Consignment), Poste Italiane had to review the entire customs clearance process. In collaboration with the customs authorities, the data arriving from both the ITMATT and IOSS allowed so-called system-to-system customs formalities. The new process eased the clearance procedures and granted a consistent reduction of the time to process the shipments.
