To offset ‘significant ongoing losses’ in its letters business, Australia Post has proposed raising the cost of a stamp from A$1.50 (US$0.97) to A$1.70 (US$1.10) from July 1, 2025.
The draft notification of the basic postage rate (BPR) increase, which has been lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) for consideration, does not include concession and seasonal greeting stamps, which have not increased in price since they were launched more than 10 years ago.
As part of its ambitious growth plans, DX Group has acquired Express Freight, a leading provider of pallet, parcel and general freight deliveries in Northern Ireland.

FedEx has launched a new air freight service between Guangzhou, China, and Bengaluru, India, in a bid to improve South India’s access to critical imports from the Asia-Pacific region and boost exports to Europe and the USA.
According to FedEx, the new flight service optimizes logistics and supply chains, strengthening South India’s role in global trade. “India is one of the most exciting economic growth stories in the world today, and as such represents a critical growth market for FedEx,” said Richard W Smith, chief operating officer, international, and chief executive officer, airline, FedEx, “I’m excited about the opportunities here in this dynamic and fast-changing region, and am proud to strengthen our commitment to India by connecting local businesses to the world.”
The new flight service will reduce many transit times in the region by one business day and brings FedEx’s weekly flight services to and from the city of Bengaluru to 22.
Czech Post and DPD Czech Republic are now offering more choice for parcel delivery and collection with a new partnership, enabling DPD customers to choose from 56 Czech Post branches for parcel pickup. The service will be expanded to more than 850 branches by the end of the year.
The two companies will trial the collaborative service until the middle of next year and if successful, will extend it to Czech Post’s entire network of almost 3,000 branches.
